Thanks for the fascinating article on Roger Cass. This quote in particular caught my eye: Economists, Cass says, aren't humanists -- which is why they are so often wrong. "Economics has become the science of mathematical modeling," he explains. "But economic behavior is better studied through human history."

I've found that I spend way more time thinking about Mr. Market's moods than I do mathematical models. So this is right up my alley. :)

Here's another futurist, Ray Kurzweil, who has a different take on what the next 20 years will lead us to. The Singularity is an evolutionary event that is unprecedented in human history. I believe both Cass and Kurzweil have valid points to make about the future. And importantly, both can see beyond the present malaise in the markets and see a glorious future. OTOH, I think the NAZ has some room on the downside before a July sucker rally occurs. <w>
