Dennis- Your point is well taken. It really all depends on the growth of data services. When data becomes a "must have", CDMA (all forms) will benefit. I've read a recent report from the UMTS Forum that suggests Europe won't see significant UMTS data growth until 2005-2006. After that, they believe data growth will accelerate for at least 5 years.
Of course the same report still calls for growth in voice services to at least match that of the new data services. I'm not sure how that's possible in Europe where most countries have very high penetration rates already.
