Re: MSO VoIP

Hi Mike,

My discussion was limited to the MSO VoIP initiatives. I have a friend who pooh-poohed my MSO-based H.323 efforts at videoconferencing while telling me that he's quite happy with VoIP on public internet, starting from his ADSL connection in San Francisco, with reasonable quality to South Africa, Ireland and Asia. So, I know that it can be done in the cloud, as long as the latency doesn't get too burdensome. Since voice typically uses 16Kbps as opposed to whatever the MSO can provide for a video link, there isn't a huge bandwidth issue with audio alone.

Frank's explanation of all this is very clear, and I can't add much to it, except color commentary.....
