Dear Westi: I know that I interpreted it somewhat differently than you did. I'm not sure why but the Lord is leading me to the book of Ezra. King Cyrus has agreed to build a temple in Jerusalem. Chap 3 vs 1 there is initial unity. Chap. 3 vs 7 the money was coming in and all the laborers were being paid.Chap 3 vs 10 the foundation was laid but in vs 11 12 13 there began a conflict between the old and the new. Some were weeping over God knows what and others were shouting for joy. Well here comes satan in Chap 4 vs 4 & 5 counselors were 'hired' to frustrate the efforts of the builders. In Chap 4 vs 17-22 all work ceased. In Chap 4 vs 24 all work ceased until Cyrus had died and King Darius was in his second year of rule. Why am I telling you this? I think it is for the following reasons. Every endeavor for God must be measured in two ways. The spiritual and the operational. I feel that it is the purpose of the enemy to frustrate us in the operational. In Chap 4 vs 4 and 5 the hands were weakened in building. The enemy could give two hoots about grand intentions or spiritual prowess or for that matter the directive of earthly kings. He cares much less about how much you pray or why you pray or for that matter your sincerity or worthiness. But what he does care about is that when the FOUNDATION HAS BEEN LAID ( Chap 3 vs 11 ) and God is already starting to receive praise over what is being accomplished. The enemy starts to go bonkers and attacks the 'operation' to get to the spiritual( get it ). So if you are looking for the attack to come from the spiritual you are looking in the wrong place. The attack is coming from the 'operational' to get to the spiritual...Hope this helps...In Christ Gregor

Dear Westi: My daughter was out of town for three days with her grandparents she returned about an hour ago. Guess what she brought me back. Here is a picture , you can barely read it. She said she got it at a flea market for me. Across the top 'THE JABEZ PRAYER' and across the bottom 'I CHRONICLES 4:10'. My hand was shaking , understandably !! It is a metal medallion, and on the back it says with praying hands 'A prayer that will ignite your life.' ON the PM ..all I am saying is that the attack will come on the operational end not the spiritual end so be careful. He uses the operational end to get to you on the spiritual side.
