If I have been a holder of HM for over a year and continue to hold until merger with ABX complete and then sell ABX right away after the merger, will I still have long term cap gains or short?

Thanks

You know, were exactly the same EU (competitor considered) standards used to kill the GE/HON deal applied to the ABX/HM deal, it would also fail muster.

As HM & AU(a major competitor)is traded on German exchange, what will they do? hehehe as if we didn't know....Not a word will be spoken.

That is unfortunate. Barrick's goal has been and will continue to be, commoditize gold. As a low cost producer, they will continue with their derivative operations in cooperation with the bullion banks. The synergy of producers and bankers will continue to advance the goals of the worlds central banks, to maintain the surpremacy of the worlds currencies regardless of how much their value is depreciated. You had gold, you now have a regulated commodity.
