Dear Paul:

Your dyslexica is rearing its ugly head again! Intel needs help with the IA-64 compiler. That's why they need the help from the Alpha compiler team. It was specifically stated in the CC. The IA-64 compiler is not yet ready for usable compilations of quick code and even has a problem generating running code (Ct's and TW's problems with the compilers must be typical and difficult to fix). They are desperate for a new approach to the problems.
