Remember how bad the Civil War was? Well, this could easily be worse. Are you actually willing to wish this on your nation? Well, do you think the slaves thought the Civil War was worth it to get their emancipation? Nobody wishes for a war, that I know of. But it may be that enough on both sides believe the principle involved is big enough to fight over rather than capitulate on. Are any strong pro-choicers here willing to say that they would rather see abortion banned than fight over the issue, if it came down to that choice? Are any strong pro-lifers here willing to say that they would rather see unlimited abortion rights rather than fight over the issue, if it came down to that choice? I didn't think so.
