I don't understand how people can feel that there is a fiber glut that is killing us.
I guess it is because all the papers are saying that.

Am I wrong about this? As I understand it, only in the long haul can you find any reason to even discuss glut. The metro market has hardly started. Even in the long haul, the dark fiber has to be lit sometime.

Of course, the fact that the FED killed all the small players in the industry did not help. Perhaps the killing of all the small players is why people like AMCC are saying it is taking longer to get back up (their customers were financially destroyed). That and the fact that the baby bells don't want to move and the big telcos want to feed off the dying smaller businesses (Why buy supplies when you can pick up a whole dying businesses for pennies on the dollar?).

I have heard a number of fund managers say that JDSU is in one of the best positions because it has so much cash. Do you agree?
