Klever-Kart's Electronic Display on Shopping Cart Alerts Shoppers to Specials, Promotions, News As They Cruise the Aisles

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 2001-- Klever Marketing(TM) (OTCBB:KLMK - news) and Big Y, one of the leading supermarket chains in Massachusetts and Connecticut, today announced that Klever Marketing's unique electronic display for shopping carts, called Klever-Kart®, would be installed at Big Y locations.

Under terms of an agreement, Klever-Kart will be installed initially in three Big Y locations in CT and MA in the fourth quarter of 2001, followed by a chain-wide roll out into all of Big Y's remaining 43 stores.

Klever-Kart, which has an LCD screen mounted on the handle of a shopping cart, allows shoppers to access product location and alerts them to promotions, specials and advertisements at the Point-of-Selection, where the majority of buying decisions are made. Klever-Kart also provides shoppers with Internet content, such as news, weather and meal planning with nutritional information.

``We see some interesting possibilities of how we might work with Klever-Kart and hopefully learn together how we might best use this exciting marketing concept to better serve our customers,'' stated Daniel Lescoe, senior vice president marketing at Big Y.

``We are excited about our agreement with Big Y because it offers them a proven way to better serve their customers, plus it represents one of our first Eastern installations,'' said Corey Hamilton, Klever Marketing CEO.

``Klever-Kart, which has already been tested in outlets in the West and is being installed in mid-west stores later this year, will allow Big Y to deliver advertising and promotional messages to the shopper while they stand right in front of the product, ready to buy,'' added Hamilton. ``This one-on-one communication will also help shoppers do everything from locating products through a store directory to receiving news and recipes -- right on the shopping cart handle.''
