Hi Polvie! good thing you weren't in yer wife's boat when you hit that log. Aye matey! My poor wife was in the galley. She ended up on her butt, with the entire contents of the sink(dishes and dishwater)and fridge, all over her lap. I can still hear her scream.......... I got demoted to Gilligan, from Skipper! <g> She IS the Admiral, ya know. Not much rain out in these parts this year(except today, go figure). The rivers are all running real low. Lots of trees that haven't seen the light of day for a long time, are sticking out. The divers and boat yards, are all staying pretty busy. <g> I'll take ya up on that sail, except it wouldn't do much good on these 100 ft wide rivers and sloughs around here. I might have used it as a sea anchor though, instead of that mushroom shaped anchor I had tied to my starboard, stern cleat. My right turns were excruciatingly slow, or non existant, when I had a wind to my starboard beam. I even had 1 guy go down on the transom with a oar, digging in on the starboard to help make the tight turns. These rivers have lots o turns. He was sore the next day. <g> The dinghy came in real handy around the marinas. It was a learnin experience. :0) Gilligan.....searchin fer Mr Howell, the loan shark......
