Chart looks good, but I can't see how subscriber growth gets to 175 million or so by the end of 2001.

I certainly hope it does. However, what is not shown in the slide are the UMTS marketshare projections into '06 and '07. According to the Q, '05 is when UMTS will first start to have its first 10m subscribers. I'd like to know the projections for '06 and'07, when (presumably) UMTS will be hitting its stride. Will it dwarf CDMA2000 within a couple of years or will it remain relatively static as CDMA2000 gobbles up more marketshare?

These are probably unanswerable questions at this time. Nevertheless, they do point out that CDMA2000's reign could potentially be a short one.

I guess we might have to live with a deluge of royalties after '05. -vbg-
