Dean Kent has posted his June Industry Update, for those of you that follow it. I haven't read it yet, but it is usually a very good read and typically has some good 'forward looking' trinkets in it.

Now for the OT stuff...

RE: thread noise

I have found that the ignore feature works very well. In fact, all but one of the few people I have on ignore are set to ignore "public messages from" them. Only one of them is also set to ignore "public messages to". Amazing how much clutter I avoid that way.

And if you have a cable modem (or other such high speed access) you can do what I do: click 'next' rather than 'view next 10 messages'. That way all of the messages you are ignoring are completely skipped, rather than having to scroll down the page. (I like it because when I used to scroll past them I felt like I was missing something -- psychological, I know, but I'm human.) Plus, it has the side benefit of [usually] not having to even move your mouse to click 'next' again.

FWIW
