The fed is easing, but IMO, it will take earnings to bring the market back. People need to see that IT spending is back, inventories going down, margins and revenues going up.......when will all this happen? My crystal ball broke in january/february 2000, so I can't answer that......we have talk of recession and others say no way....just slow growth, then recovery......I'd love to think recovery will start to be seen by end of the year, but I just wouldnt bank on that.....it will take some time to get the economy back on track.....hopefully by spring next year, talk of a recession will be gone ( keeping fingers crossed as I type ), and solid signs of a recovery will be evident.....in any event, Thats what I think, but in reality, anything can happen...could be sooner, could be longer...could be never, but my belief is that eventually , we will see a recovery, and FO sector should be a sector that see's some growth come back, IMO, and hopefully so......right now, all one can do is hold on, buy the companies you believe will rebound and prosper and be patient....heck, watching jdsu drop from the 140's ( I sold half my position at 137, still hold other half )to current levels was heart wrenching.....so at $11 are ya gonna bail now? Add now? Or just hold and be patient? Personally, I will do either 2 out of the 3....will definatly hold what I have, may buy more, and will not sell at this level......If FO sector goes down the tubes, then so will jdsu and many others.....but who actually thinks FO is going by the wayside? We hit a tough economic glut....effected everything in every sector.....BUT, is FO going to be a surviving and prosperous sector one day, or fall by the wayside with mothernature.bomb? I tend to think FO will be back...when? I dont know, but I will have my jdsu, ocpi and corv, if the sector does come back..... good luck and dont let the daily ticker effect your own ticker...in times like this, it is best to maybe just put in some low balls on stocks you want and dont watch the market...I spent 9 days without looking at a newspaper or tv....just chilled, fished, drank and ate like a pig...came home to find some decimated stocks, but also some low ball orders filled on OCPI at $9 and CORV at $3.50....missed jdsu, ntap and several others, but my low balls still sit......
