Hi Mike, I hope you and Brain are well! there are many
fallen angels out there, remember when you were talking
about Uniphase back in March of 1999 ... Ho Ho Ho.

meger with JDSU and then the aquisition of SDLI a run up
to 150 and a decline to 10... wow.

the most amazing thing to me has the extreme movements in these companies from the high and the lows. it's taught me that things can get high,,,and i mean very very ridiculously high and go higher still,,,,,and things can get low....and lower,,,and lower,,,,and perhaps,,,disappear.

It has been amazing. you know 1967 and 1968 had a speculative market like this as well. the top 10% gaining
stocks in 1968 had gone broke and disappeared by 1972.

I would bet that some of the bonds of the telcom
guys like XOXO, LVLT.... which may end up trading for 5
cents on the dollar may end up being great investments, as
the bond holders will get some equity in the few survivors
such as Q that will be around to pick up the assets of the
XOXO,MFNX,MCLD's of the telco world.

......i am hoping that everyone will be saying that we're stuck in a bear market for years. haven't really heard that yet from the "experts".....

no we have not and may not for quite a while to come.

Although, several members of the Barron's roundtable were
fairly negative this weekend. That article is worth
reading.

can you access Barron's?
