Then let's not confuse the fact that the MAJORITY would rather pay lower prices at the pump, than to protect the habitat of the Caribou or Spotted Owl.

As I recall, San Francisco started all of this with a push for same-sex partner benefits that has certainly taken hold in the major cities. The hell you say that this does not stand to set a precedent!!

The word Minorities has ambiguous meanings when used generically by those coming from diverse directions.

Black can be a minority if the black resides in a mainly white society. White could be a minority when residing in a black society such as Barbados. How about a man in a women's college. These minority groups are distinguished by color or sex.

How about minorities that are distinguished by behavior:
Kleptomaniacs, prostitutes, pedophiles and etc? Or how about a majority opinion? Or conversely - a minority opinion? What's good? What's bad? Will there be no consensus? If the minority states that water will run up hill, will it happen?

Foisting the label minority or majority on any and all including problems or conflict of interests can be pretty damaging to logic. To be fair that's why many think that word should be used cautiously and unpromoted.
