The commentary is pure Republican spin.

Spin to me means that they know it to be false. I think those people actually believe what they say. But again this is perhaps a distraction.

To change the subject. In case you didn't see the story. In the post-Nixon age. White house papers were supposed to be released to the public 12 years after the end of an Administration. Reagan's papers were supposed to be released this past January, but GW asked for an extension [enabled by a Reagan Executive Order]. The White House hadn't yet started reviewing the documents so they asked for another extension until August. Given that there are members of the current administration that were also in Reagan's Administration, this could prove to be a very fun exercise.
