One need not say a single thing more that what has been stated in the press, ..."Despite the willingness to negotiate, Matthews indicated the provincial government is sticking to its guns -- demanding processing of the nickel ore to take place in Newfoundland and Labrador, with "maximum benefits for the province.""

I strongly doubt that Inco will settle for that, ... and they certainly won't if it's uneconomic. The provincial gov't will have to settle for a lot less than what they are now saying, and no matter how they candy coat it, it will be a huge climb-down from their present position.

I think Inco should call the new Ni-Cu mine, "The Smallwood Mine" in recognition of the huge sell-out that will have to take place if there is ever going to be a mine there <ggg>.
