Thanks for you wise words. I'll have to look into CleanSweep.

I did do some digging on removing NC6 and came up with this uninstall information in Netscape release notes:

home.netscape.com

mr mark and Ray, yes - I used Netscape 6 and later removed it, but removal did not lead to any problems. I now have IE 6 on both computers.

PS: there is one little annoyance, but I'm not sure what caused it: in Windows Explorer ALL folders show a + sign on the left side, even those having NO subfolders. It seems I didn't have this problem until some time a few months ago. I'm living with it.
