Xilinx (XLNX) 43.86 +0.15: -- Update -- What happened to the turns business in June? In just three
weeks since its prior guidance, XLNX saw its turns business deteriorate so much that revenue guidance
had to be cut by roughly 14%, or $59 mln. The market had already taken revenue estimates down by
about 5% vs prior guidance, but it wasn't enough. XLNX halted; ALTR -1.5.

Photronics (PLAB) 24.14 +1.07: -- Update -- Company warns for Q3; sees earnings of $0.01-0.05 vs.
current EPS estimate of $0.23; "the current environment is one of the most severe Photronics has
experienced during its 32 year history. Our lack of visibility is exacerbated by the temporary wafer fab
shutdowns being instituted by our customers as they attempt to reduce inventory levels and operating
expenses." see press release.

3Com Corp (COMS) 4.84 -0.19: Reports Q4 loss excluding items of $0.61, four cents worse than the
First Call consensus for a loss of $0.57; Q4 revenues were $468 mln vs. consensus estimate of $532.2
mln; see press release.

Xilinx (XLNX) 43.86 +0.15: -- Update -- Company warns that June qtr revenues will fall 32%
sequentially vs prior guidance of a 15-20% decline; also notes that gross margin will fall to 52%; cites
decreased turns (orders that are booked and shipped in the same qtr) business. XLNX halted, but
competitor ALTR trading down 1.65 after hours to 25.35.

when are the bad news going to affect the market? the resiliency of this market can be viewed as bullish, but for some reason i'm still skeptical...
