DT,

Re: BTW, if you run into the QCOM type of industry jargon or doublespeak, just let me know. I'm pretty good at deciphering that stuff.

Thank ya kindly, pard'. 'Preciate yer offa.

My problem is somewhat lessened these days in that I've been around the block often enough now to simply assume that all the press releases, research reports and news announcement about vaporware, slideware and tradeshowware are all meant to bamboozle me. Assuming that makes interpreting this stuff so much easier. <w>

Cheerio!

No Good Offers Refused! Bafflegab Alert....

Hi DT,

Since you offered to parse some of the jargony, jingoistic jive of the juvenile joiners of the telecom fray..... How about a plain English opinion on this mouthful, or morsel, as the case may be:

Message 15779232

Global is the first MIONC (Metropolitan Integrated Optical Network Carrier) to utilize an Integrated Optical Networking Platform ("IONP") and advanced soft-switch technology. Global Broadband

globalbroadbandinc.com

launched service using a GeniusBuild(TM) Network configuration that utilizes both Cisco Systems(R) and Quantum Bridge(R) optical transmission equipment. Global services include Ethernet access to the Internet, and T1 to VT trunks for long distance and local telephone service. Global is providing HyperSpeed(TM) data service at speeds up to 1 Gbps in metro New York City.

Blowin' Smoke? Or something real?

[[Note: Frank, Global Broadband seems active in your neck of the woods, any sign of 'em on your radar?]]

I'm more interested in the other half of this proposed JV, that being a company that proposes to make money by giving away electrical switch gear and selling "Negawatts" back into the power market. Ya gotta love it. Markets turned on their heads.

Best, Ray :)
