Here's one reason the economy won't rebound anywhere near as fast as many economists forecast...lots of manufacturers are using the layoffs associated with this slowdown to move manufacturing overseas PERMANENTLY (ie, the "great sucking sound" Ross Perot was always yammering about is getting louder):

no sh&t ...

the media is d^mn good. You gotta hand it to them. This bump in consumer confidence while we've had the most rapid decline in profits, revenues in a decade and so many layoffs -- not to mention folks forced to take unpaid leave ... the "recognition wave" is going to be something else.

Xlnx reaffirms: continues to expect sales to decline 15 percent to 25 percent sequentially in the quarter,

Sales off 32% rather than 25%. Still looks pretty rich to me, though.
