i do tend to see the ABX/HM merger in that light. and you're absolutely correct, the limit of CB selling/leasing will be reached much sooner than people think. it's the same as with every other long established trend...people simply tend to extrapolate it indefinitely into the future once they have gotten used to it, and are blind to all evidence to the contrary.
