Intel and AMD entered into a (renewal) cross-licensing agreement just a few months ago.

I'd be surprised if AMD tried to circumvent the licensing agreement - especially so early on.

My guess is that whatever AMD has in their new AThWipers is already covered under the licensing agreement - assuming of course that AMD didn't directly copy Intel's implementation of SSE instructions.
