A word for OnTracks utility suite...I use Fix-It 2000, the previous version of Ontrack's SystemSuite 3...I like it. I've installed it on a number of computers...it installs easily and quickly and has very good registry clean up tools. Easy to use.

The article that mr.mark posted about utility suites rates it the best buy...they list the cost as $50...you can buy it for close to half that amount if you keep an eye on weekly sales at Staples...CompUSA...Best Buy...buy.com etc.

I have little faith in un-install programs. Currently, developers simply have far too many opportunities to be sloppy. Traces of unwanted software can creep into an unimaginable number of hiding places in your system.

Only a back-up or an image made when the system was 'perfect' can work reliably. (And sometimes, not even then.)

Cheers, PW.

P.S. Some of my posts on this matter.

Hi Mark,

I appreciate your input. As well as that of other contributors in reply to your post. We continue to bandaid the system and make headway... I think... <g>

Best, Ray :)

We waited patiently for you to return.

We thought you were on vacation (the cow said it was voluntary)

Someone saw you on another thread.

Still we waited . . .

Finally, someone said: siliconinvestor.com and we went to look at your profile to see if you were maybe back.

We conclude you never left (except the Computer Learning Thread) so now we're curious ~

Do you want to talk about it? Will you explain?
