eCo, <Assuming this compiler is critical for the Hammer, what steps are required for it to be implemented in the current environment in terms of both personnel and money? With respect to the former, rumors abound about disaffected Compaq employees that might be easily hired away and IP is apparently not an issue. And as for the latter, AMD does have over $1B in the bank. Is there really a problem here?> DEC guys were doing the compiler work for free for AMD (at least as far as I can tell). Now AMD has to find someone else to do that or spend the dollars and lose the time in developing something equivalent. Not an easy task even if there are willing guys available for hire. Chuck
