gdr, bigstar.com is closing.

wrt the book... ooops! i forgot the link. the book is $0.49 and went from 5000 to 107 on amzn's sales list b/c all the bargain hunters on the net are buying it to save $$$ on shipping. isn't information flow great for business! ;-)

here is someones's take on amzn's professionalism...

>>Why Are We Trying This?

At Amazon.com, we're always working to make your shopping experience as simple as possible. It's our hope that this offer will accomplish that by eliminating your need to do the math for shipping costs. For qualifying orders, the price you see is the price you get--you'll no longer need to factor in shipping charges at the end of your order.

this is HYSTERICAL!

1. i've never seen a company who is in a profit business use the word 'try' in a public document!

2. 'eliminate the need to do math..for qualifying orders'! So instead of simply adding 3 bucks to the price, we shoppers have to remember a list six bullet-points long of instructions on how to get the free shipping promo.

3. 'you'll no longer need to factor in shipping charges..' right, because we've raised our prices accross the board by 5 to 15 percent!

4. 'the price you see is the price you get' yeah, unless we decide to do our variable pricing scheme again & change your prices after you order!

By the way, i'm just having a little fun at their marketing. I am in no way knocking the post or the deal - it's a great turn of events. Thanks for posting it & i will use this today for a couple discs. It sounds like a semi-permanent change too - that's cool.<<

amzn really seems to be shooting in the dark - "trying" whatever they can. hey, i thought they had a PLAN!
