By an astonishing coincidence, "zero" happens to also be the accuracy of that statement. ;P

Actually, that's a misstatement. AMD has very little activity going on compilers, and Compaq has indeed put some optimizations, if not a lot, for the Athlon onto their compilers.

AMD uses Compaq compilers for some of their spec2000 testing. In some cases, the Compaq compilers have strong performance benefits over the Intel compilers.
