The foundation of the Company's business has been the development, manufacturing and marketing of automatic card shufflers and table games, with slot games and operating system software having been added more recently. Shuffle Master's current shuffler offering is available to casinos through either a purchase or lease option, table game products are available on a monthly license basis, and slot games and the Company's operating system are generally offered on a daily fee basis. The Company markets its shuffler products in most domestic gaming jurisdictions directly, and internationally, through representatives and a distributor. During fiscal 2000, the Company also distributed and serviced a line of casino chip sorting machines and accessories. For the six months ended 4/30/01, revenues rose 30% to $23.6 million. Net income rose 41% to $5.6 million. Revenues reflect an increase in the installed base of multi-deck shufflers. Higher income also reflects a shift in product mix towards a higher margin ACE(R) shuffler and table lease.
