I had so much help from you people concerning my "low resources" problem that I thought I'd come back for more. My machine is really running so much better now.

To that end, I'm considering buying a program that restores RAM as my machine runs. It claims to take back memory that Windows uses but doesn't effectively return for later use. Does anyone have experience with this kind of thing? Are there detrimental side effects? Input appreciated, as usual. Thanks!

Ken

mr. mark

first a thanks for this thread. for the longest time i had a problem with internet explorer that i could not solve. when i clicked on a link, 50% of the time there would be a delay before my computer attempted to connect with the internet. this drove me crazy. on sunday thecow referenced one of your posts describing internet explorer repair tool. i had never heard of it and gave it a try. it solved the problem and saved me from a possible aneurysm. so thanks.

now a question. this weekend i am adding a second hard drive to my system. i am currently running win98 and will install win2k to the second drive for a dual boot system. i am wondering what is the best way to install the second hd. should i just connect it to the second ied channel, boot up under win98, use partition magic and f-disk or would it be better to disconnect the win98 drive and just boot up with the new hd. if i use the second method, would i boot from a win98 boot disk and then inset the win2k disc?
thanks
