off the mark here.
True, I haven't read this book, but I have read enough archaeology (and participated in some) to know that humans have been planning for the future and thinking about their death for some 40 or 50 thousand years at least. Through that time period various homo have left evidence of their planning, their art, and their provisions for dying in an obviously self aware manner. Even the very obvious Egyptian civilization predates the times mentioned here. If the author really had an original and verifiable thought it would be reported beyond this thread.
