Carepe....on ITRU....I believe a couple of months ago I posted to you about my near-term concerns about ITRU's future....diverse patents but minimal revenues. These coupled with the rumblings I have read from others concerning the "seamless" integration of MSFT's DRM versus some alleged difficulties with ITRU's....these were merely rumors, but enough for me to remain wary of ITRU as an investment.
While they have partnerships/alliances with several big boys, and dozens of smaller companies, their flat/diminishing revenues are worrisome....

The following is all IMHO:
A positive outcome does not guarantee ITRU a brilliant company life. MSFT can drag them chained and screaming down the long road of litigation. A loss for ITRU effectively ruins them.
And, ITRU will not survive as an independent company if there is any ambiguity/delay/negative sentiment towards ITRU's patents as the case grinds forward. They cannot afford a long, drawn-out affair so they have made some aggressive moves in pre-trial actions. If a preliminary injunction is not granted, you can look for MSFT to grind ITRU to dust.
I firmly believe that DRM is blossoming area that deserves our thorough attentions. ITRU appears to have several pertinent patents that run through the heart of the DRM world. The strength of these patents will soon be known.

I have taken some seriously large and speculative long positions in ITRU at (and below) the current price.
I will be tracking the progress of the patent case and watching how its progression affects the stock price. There could be some good trading opportunities if the volume stays active while arguments and rumors are bandied about in and out of the courtroom.

In my very very humble opinion, I see a quick settlement happening if the preliminary injunction is granted. MSFT cannot afford any negatives in their persuance of an XP release.
However, in my bigger picture, I see ITRU either receiving a sizable investment or an outright purchase offer soon.
And I don't think it will come from MSFT.
My candidates: Adobe, IBM....at one point, I thought I had read (now I can't find the article) that IBM had utilized ITRU's superdistribution concepts in their DRM software. Also, IBM appears to have a great deal to gain by usurping all of ITRU's patents....in reality, there is very little else of value in the company IMO.

Well, so ends another rambling session. I have done far too much reading on this, but find that cannot relate it in a coherent fashion. I'll keep you all posted.

Wes

EDIT: I take that back about their patents being their only assets. They appear to have a diverse software selection....the software simply does not appear to be moving quickly off the shelves. WT
