OT - Gas and Consumer Confidence

RE: $1.36 / per gal - u r lucky.
Our regular gas is still over $2.00 / gal in Los Angeles and I understand its even more in the San Francisco Bay area. And remember we drive longer distances out here !

Amazing! Usually NorCal is more expensive than LaLa Land. I've been buying Regular all along at $1.959 and premium was $2.199 but I got premium yesterday at $2.119 and I noticed regular was down to $1.919.

Good points on energy prices. Big deal for me has been my last two PG&E bills that are under last years due to conservation (switched to Fluorescent bulbs, cut back on out door lighting and turned off the hot tub to cut 30% and do my part). Even with the price increases, my bill was not too bad and under $100 (about $80). Many of us feared we'd be paying as much for electricity as we paid for gas in the winter (were many had $300-$500 power company bills!) It is hard to plan any spending when you are living paycheck to paycheck and don't know what your energy bill will be.

I think knowing what your energy bills will be and knowing the worst fears may be past... will lift the spirits of Californians and our friends in the Pacific NW That could really help the economy.

Haven't you had ANY kind of a break in prices? I really don't understand what is going on. This supposedly has been caused by a shortage of refining capacity which has led to tight supplies. Yet, I have yet to hear of ANYONE who has been turned away from a gas pump this spring and summer because of a shortage, nor have I heard of any rationing for the same reason. Those of us who are old enough to remember the 70's shortages know that empty supply tanks and rationing were real then. Go figure......................

Knip
