I believe we agree. I was thinking of the Holocaust as an example of "Universal Evil" in that it should be repugnant to every civilized person. There are many other examples in history.

Most of the examples of universal evil have been preceded by a disarmament of the weak by the unprincipled strong. That's why I believe the Bill of Rights, in particular the second amendment, are so very important.
