By the way, diamond prices of finer finished goods are falling.
Pardon my ignorance, but does this refer to the diamond stone alone or the finished piece?

This is not an ignorant question. The reference is to both the rough (non cut mined crystals) and to the completed cut and polihed diamonds. The term finished pieces really refers to a completed ring, pendant, etc. There has been no loss of value to the labor required to create a finished piece but the finished piece costs less due to the reduction in the cost of the raw material meaning the cut diamond and gold. I am focused on the cut and polished diamond itself without be mounted or set in any jewelry item.
