I think we're back to a philosophy of "full employment is inflationary" again.
Today's layoffs include JDSU, 5,000; Bridgestone, 1,500; Lucent, 10,000; and the Nasdaq, 140. All of those would be expected, under the circumstances.
In fact, it happens every day.
Which does, over time, ease inflationary pressures. Especially on wages, and, to an extent, demand for products and services.
