Saturn, RE: Hopefully if the server is cheap, almost every web site could use an Itanium and supply new video streaming content.

Heck, you can take it a lot further than that.

Every TV in every home could have a server attached. You might have another server manage your home LAN. Or the same server. You could take it as far as you wanted.

Are you serious ? You mean to say, Annual Unit CPU shipment of RS6000 + SPARCs + PA-RISC + ALPHA < 100,000 ?
I think (hope) you are waaaaaay off. Also it doesn't map to 1 million Alpha CPU out there I read in one of the article. Even if took 10 years to build a base of 1 millions Alphas, it would translate to an average of 100k alphas per year.

I'll try to dig up more info on this later.
