Saturn, RE: Hopefully if the server is cheap, almost every web site could use an Itanium and supply new video streaming content. Heck, you can take it a lot further than that. Every TV in every home could have a server attached. You might have another server manage your home LAN. Or the same server. You could take it as far as you wanted.

You mean to say, Annual Unit CPU shipment of RS6000 + SPARCs + PA-RISC + ALPHA < 100,000 ? I think (hope) you are waaaaaay off. Also it doesn't map to 1 million Alpha CPU out there I read in one of the article. Even if took 10 years to build a base of 1 millions Alphas, it would translate to an average of 100k alphas per year. I'll try to dig up more info on this later. Maui.
