To think more pragmatic, I would be surprised
if the operators of the world wouldn't make
an advanced order of 2.0-epsilon million GPRS handsets
for the Xmas market??

Considering that upgrading handsets is getting
easier and easier, keywords WinTesla, Phoenix
and service points.
(not that WinTesla is bad, Tesla was a smart
Czeck or whatever guy, Phoenix a stupid bird??)

However, I remember the hoopla about getting
the latest version of WAP for the 7110 in UK,
vers. 4.2x to 5.0x, although it was mostly a matter
of the networks.

Anyway, millions of handsets is different than some
2-10,000 in terms of fixing and upgrading, the
motorola scam of two to finger at every point of
(unbundled) sales. (what is the anglo-christian
word for bread just to watch, not to eat??)

Ilmarinen

P.S.Luckily base stations have been 100% software,
uploadable upgradable and fixable for years... (as long
as the RF parts are good enough)

Forgetting when Motorola had to unscrew its stuff
after one year of promises of less crashes, reboots
and whatever it meant when the "japanese" said they had to
change the operating system.

P.P.S. After some Ch 11 experiences I'm allergic to
Phoenix projects, all that smoke and dust..
