that's bull. he's simply dealing with the facts as reality deals them out. I didn't read glee in his comment.

u want to change the world.. go help them buy some preventive medicine/life prolonging medicine...

but that has nothing to do with the market fact of the matter.

Hi,Bob

I was really surprised by your reaction. Many of us are taking you as the numbers expert. We all know how thin the balance in gold trade is, and any accident can ignite the run. Richard is doing favour to all of us who wants to have full picture. Right now everybody would only benefit if CB's of the world decided to dump ALL gold at once.

Regards
Marek

Newmont resumes output at Sulawesi gold mine
JAKARTA, July 2 (Reuters) - Gold miner PT Newmont Minahasa Raya said on Monday it had resumed production at its North Sulawesi mine after a strike stopped operations last week.

The company said operations resumed on Friday, two days after 50 workers went on strike over severance issues related to the company's plan to close the mine by 2003.

``We express our relief on the peaceful dialogue which resulted in a win-win situation for both parties,'' Newmont general manager Brant Hinze said in a statement, adding an agreement had been reached with the workers' union.

Newmont Minahasa Raya, a unit of Denver-based Newmont Mining Corp (NYSE:NEM - news), produces around 20-25 kg of gold a day.

Another company official told Reuters on Thursday the strike involved hundreds of workers.

The protest was staged following the first batch of redundancy packages offered to 44 employees two weeks ago as part of the mine closure plan.

The Minahasa-based mine -- some 1,650 km (1,025 miles) northeast of Jakarta -- was forced to halt operations several times last year because of protests by locals and a tax dispute with the regional government.

Foreign miners have increasingly found themselves at odds with workers and local residents over a range of issues since the downfall of former President Suharto in 1998. His iron rule kept a tight lid on protests.
