Rydex Total Assets Update for Thursday, June 28th 2001: Regular Series: SPX Long - NOVA 350.5 Million SPX Short- URSA 199.1 MillionBEARISH NDX Long - OTC 1246 BILLION NDX Short- Arktos 54.4 MillionBEARISH - near 52 week low XAU Precious Metals 36.4 MillionBULLISH Banking 87.1 Million Money Market 1,202 BILLION *************************************** Dynamic Series (200% correlation to Index) SPX Long - TITAN 143.7 Million SPX Short- TEMPEST 68.9 Million NDX Long - VELOCITY 198.1 MillionBEARISH NDX Short- VENTURE 54.6 Million ********************************************* Sentiment numbers confirm my worst fears that the bottom is not in and that any rally will be short lived at best. Complacency abounds and no doubt this next shake-out, when it occurs, will be swift and painful. Ain't no way we will get any meaningful rally or bounce with these numbers. Low VIX reading confirms it. Need complacency to be eliminated and fear to materialize and these numbers depict complacency. If the market does find a way to rally to SPX 1260 - 1,300 and COMP above 2250 from these numbers with no meaningful selling, it would be most appropriate to get on the short side of the fence.
