It's a New New Paradigm Zeev. Triple digit P/E's during a severe economic slowdown/recession.

Just think what those P/E's will be next Qtr with NAZ 2800 & even lower earnings???

12:39 ET Microsoft (MSFT) 72.50 +1.36 halted: -- Update -- Merrill Lynch analyst Blodget says that since an MSFT break-up was not expected, the news is not a major negative surprise for AOL-Time Warner (AOL 52.09 -0.59), but since the ruling was slightly more positive than expected for MSFT, it is slightly negative for competitors AOL and RealNetworks (RNWK 11.46 -0.29) as well.

12:36 ET Microsoft (MSFT) 72.50 +1.36: -- Update -- Hearing trading floor talk that MSFT will not be reopened for trading today; no confirmation.

12:27 ET Microsoft (MSFT) 72.50 +1.36 halted: -- Update -- For those looking to read the ruling and having trouble with the court's website, here's a faster option: microsoft.com.

Zeev,
You said,

"Buy at valuations which are already getting quite ridiculous so you can sell at valuations that are ludicrous. (g)."

I think you should switch ridiculous and ludicrous around, since ridiculous has the added letter "I" in it.<g>

Zeev, the VIX was 9 back in 94...I don't think that one can tell much of a tale where this market is heading. The P/C is usually a better indicator at extremes...etc. No need to declare anything at this point. We simply have to try and stay in tune with the market rather than try to tell it what to do.

I think the MSFT breakup overturning will give the market some gas.
