You're saying we should be able to anticipate outside influences?

The more facts one can garner , the more a trend should become identifiable. Each trend never goes straight in one direction and slowly develops into one. I am not saying that its over for the bad news, but it is clear that things have begun to change . Take last night for an example, we had the biggest number of warnings in one evening that I can remember, yet today most of those stocks are trading up . 6 MONTHS ago , and even 3 months ago, those same stocks would have been cut by a third minimum and with the excessive number or warnings last night they may have been cut in half. So what has changed? Are institutions waiting on the sideline for the discounts? who is buiying these dips? Sure isn't retail , not enough of them around anymore, look at Schwab , Etrade, Datek active volume level declines over the last 12 months for a clue.

So again, you may not catch every trend ahead of the expected move, but the more info that one can collect and understand, the more times he/she will be on the right side of it.
