As i read you words i think of India as a democracy but the poverty is horrible and the caste is still there.

Yes, the capitalism/socialism discussion is fine but in my view a minimum target ought to be to prevent human beings from being forced to starve to death. Many people never have a choice or a chance to take part in economic activities and have to wither away. I don't know the cure but poverty mustn't be allowed to persist the way it has during the past decades.

Is my impression right that, in spite of all difficulties, India's situation is improving gradually? I just say Infosys (INFY). There's a lot of hype about China but India could become just as powerful a nation. Time is working against the industrial nations. The walls against the poor can't prevent "osmosis." Even the Berlin Wall only held for less than three decades. Somehow a constructive balance will have to be found otherwise the boat will capsize and everybody will drown, rich and poor.
