I kept ALL of my semi shorts. Check out AMCC's press release, if you haven't already. CEO says this is the worst downturn he has ever seen in his 30+ years in the industry.

I would recommend going after the equipment makers rather than the chip makers. With all the excess capacity out there, it will be a hell of a long time before there will be a meaningful pickup in equipment sales. These guys are always in a feast or famine mode. The famine mode is just starting.

FWIW, I have heard that TSMC is shutting down fab3 temporarily. It is a foundry that makes chips for the communications industry. Suggests things really ARE as bad as the CEO's are saying.
