how about this scenario. you buy barrick 15 years ago and watch your money grow 3000% while you didn't make diddly shit in homestake. right about the time gold is bottoming out barrick scoops up relatively unhedged miner homestake and or covers it's hedges and then milks all 6 million ounces per year as gold explodes upward. maybe people should wait to see if barrick blows up before they pass judgement on their methods!
