"There is an area of study in psychology called "locus of control" (LOC). The research is focused on how internal or external a person's feelings of control are. Persons with a strong sense of internal locus of control are more likely to be successful in their endeavors, to be more adaptable, and capable in general of dealing with the struggles of life.

Most of us are in a state of mind called syncretism, which means in philosophical terms that we have tried to settle conceptual contradictions by means of compromises which are carried to a point where all views merge and lose their identity. This is the gift and the price of the modern world and I'm not sure it's worth it.

To adapt is a good thing and I believe we are better off for most of our struggles with life. After all without them where would we be? We would not know the difference between hard and easy, right and wrong, hot and cold. Every age and each human must learn this for him or her self.

What you own is your own kingdom, what you do is your own glory, what you love is your own power, what you live is your own story, in your head is the answer, let it guide you along, let your heart be the anchor and the beat of your song.
