" knew a union guy who would get drunk every Saturday night and go to the ER every Sunday morning with a hangover. They would give him 2 Excedrin, send him home and bill his insurance $75. Saved him the $4 for buying a bottle of them.' Sounds like a preposterous story but it does demonstrate the high cost of ER care.....but .if he had insurance and the hospital knew his MO, why did they treat him and not send him to his own MD. It would also seem to me that the insurance company would blow the whistle on this guy.
