I didn't say Bill Mahr was a "guideline", just that the quote was apt.

And yes, big business scares me more than the unions and the trial lawyers. Trial lawyers provide a counterbalance to the power of big business, which has fewer checks and counterbalances on its actions every year. Ditto unions for all their ills.

If business has its way unchecked, we will soon have a country with 20% business owners and 80% working poor. This is not good for the country, democracy or for business, for that matter. So I believe in supporting checks and balances on the most powerful interests. That's also why I support campaign finance reform.
