Can you get it into your head that whether she ruled correctly or not is not even the point? Having a Supervisor of Elections who is a campaign chair for one of the candidates is like having a judge in a civil suit who is working as a consultant for the plaintiff. He would of course be legally bound to recuse himself, as Katherine Harris should have done. The fact that all her decisions supported the Bush campaign did not improve the appearance of impropriety.
