Not a good run for the Democrats' favorite ambulance chaser. First they won't let him steal the election in Florida, then they shove his Microsoft victory up his ass. The problem with liability lawyers is they spend too much time chasing a buck and too little time studying the law so they can be guardians of it. Look for the first victory on the tort crisis when Kennedy McCain is successfully amended. Look for serious, legitimate tort reform in the first Bush term. Also on deck: The public is FINALLY going to realize that they can outlaw tobacco, but-barring that-they can't seize private property without just cause. Perhaps we can find a way to apply this novel idea to tax policy. Perhaps the system of laws the Founders created is really strong enough to withstand the assault of the anti-American left of our are. If it so transpires, I will be ready to increase my already great respect for them.
