Yes, that was an uncommonly good article. The "prime" credit card companies (KRB, AXP and perhaps COF) stand to lose more from an increase in personal bankruptcies than the subprimes, primarily because it's holders have bigger credit lines...

You make a good point about medical catastrophes wiping folks out...interesting to see what "the cat drug in" with the "Patients Bill of Rights" wending its way through Congress. I'm hearing a lot of rumblings about immediate premium increases (to reserve for legal expenses for the insuranc companies) and dropped coverage if/when it passes (ie, employers saying to employees: "Here's an extra 3K/year in place of our share of your health insurance...you do it".

Lots and lots more personal BK's if that indeed comes to pass.
